Finer control resolution for temperature control

Maintaining a stable temperature requires a good PID control loop but also requires frequent switching of the heating elements. Electromechanical relays have a limited lifetime in terms of electrical switching. On the other hand, solid state relays do not have any moving contacts making them ideal for such applications. The RM1A is an industry standard solid state relay used for heater switching applications. It can switch heaters up to 100 A.
When panel space is a premium RK2A and RKD2A series is ideal because there are two SSRs in one compact housing. The RK2A can switch two poles with a single control input whereas RKD2A offers independent dual pole switching up to 75 A per pole. The pre-attached thermal pad on the RK series results in additional time savings during installation.

Plug and play solid state contactors for heater switching

Solid state contactors come with a pre-attached heatsink making them ideal replacements for electro-mechanical contactors.
The RGC series comes in 1-pole, 2-pole and 3-pole variants to suit different user requirements. For single phase heater applications, the RGC1A offers the most compact solid state contactor on the market in a housing just 17.8 mm (0.7") wide.
The RGC2A is what is normally referred to as economy switching. By switching two poles, the SSC is less expensive and, at the same time you get less heat dissipation within the electrical panel.
The RGC3A switches all of the three poles for a more balanced switching of heating elements.

Level detection of plastic pellets in hoppers

Capacitive sensors are ideal for monitoring the level of plastic pelets in dosing equipment. Carlo Gavazzi capacitive sensors offer a very high immunity against external disturbance caused by high EMC and ESD events. With their TripleshieldTM technology, our capacitive sensors (CA and EC series) are industry leading products. The sensing face on the EC and CA series can withstand temperatures up to 120ºC (248ºF).

Presence detection of plastic pellets

Retro-reflective sensors are effective in detecting the presence or absence of plastic pellets, by measuring the intensity of the reflected light. When the level of pellets falls below or rises above a certain point, the reflected light pattern changes, and the sensor can detect this variation to determine the pellet level. In this case, our PD30ET sensors can provide reliable level detection in any type of environment. The PD30ET with its stainless steel housing is IP69K and Ecolab certified for applications that require maximum hygiene. The IO-Link variants of PD30 further increase the functionality of the photo electric sensor with timer functions, logic functions, adjustable sensing distance as well as logging functions.

Ultra-compact power supplies

Switch mode power supplies are a crucial part in powering up most of the critical components within the electrical panel of any plastics processing machinery.
Our SPDE series of DIN-rail mount power supplies offer a number of unique features such as ultra-slim design, integrated PFC and efficiencies up to 96%.
Switch mode power supplies can work on a wide range of input voltage maintaining a very stable DC voltage output to make sure that all the critical components such as PLCs and HMIs are safely powered up.
