Lainate, February 2022 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, today presents the M-Bus versions of its new power analyzer.
The WM15 is a power analyzer for single-, two- and three-phase systems that can be installed in every kind of switchboard to control energy consumption, main electrical variables, and harmonic distortion.
Next to the existing versions, with digital output and optional Modbus RTU port, a new version with embedded M-Bus port has been added. With this new option, unique in the market, the annoying need of interfacing the output of a panel mounted analyser with an external Modbus-to-M-Bus gateway (generally to be installed in a DIN-rail, thus requiring extra space and extra wiring) is no longer required.
“With this launch, Carlo Gavazzi provides M-bus directly on-board a panel mounted power analyzer. This feature is on top of the other unique characteristics of the WM15, such as easy and error-proof installation, ultra-fast commissioning, and remote troubleshooting, aspects which nowadays are more and more essential,” Andrea Bernardi, International Product Manager, says. “It is our intention to offer a complete solution for all those applications where an energy metering program - even for fiscal purposes, thanks to the MID certification - is to be integrated to existing water, gas, and remote heating M-Bus based acquisition systems. This is a requirement that mostly applies to industrial and building automation markets”.
Developed by our competence center in Italy, the WM15 is also the ideal solution for retrofit applications, when traditional analogue meters or old digital ones need to be replaced. It also provides final users with an immediate visual indication of the current values by means of the 3 bar graphs shown on the matrix LCD display.
