Bulk material conveyors are fundamental in mines, tunnels, cement factories, steelworks, pulp and paper plants. Conveyor stoppages block the whole process, which means big money losses due to downtime and missed production. However for safety reasons, there are several emergency stop switches along the conveyors connected to a pull-wire which enables workers to stop the belt at any point and time particularly when emergency situations or faults occur.
