Lainate, June 2010 – Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics Group with activities in designing, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, presents PD70 family, the new through beam sensor range for pedestrian door applications, designed in accordance with the latest standards. A single sensor consists of two units: the emitter – provided with a separate test input for verification of the sensing functions, according to several regulations such as EN12978, EN12445, EN12453 and UL325 – and the receiver. The PD70 family features a sensing range of up to 12 m and a maximum optical angle of +/- 5 degree, as strictly required. Moreover, these devices fit into the narrow aluminium frames for pedestrian doors because of their small size. These new products are the ideal solution for pedestrian door applications: if someone is standing in the doorway, the sensors prevent the door from closing. Thanks to their solidity, these devices can be used also for other applications, as industrial doors or checkout counters. “With the new PD70 sensor family, we further expand our pedestrian door market portfolio, which is a business area we are strongly focusing on” – Torben Rochat, International Product Manager, states – “Considering the quality of our offer and its peculiar features, we are confident that Doors and Entrance Control markets will warmly welcome these innovative devices”. Developed by the sensor development centre in Hadsten in Denmark, the PD70 range exploits cutting-edge technologies, enhancing the latest knowledges in photoelectric sensors field and into door and entrance market.
