“AUTOMATION AWARD 2019” FOR CARLO GAVAZZI’S IO-LINK SMART CONFIGURATOR SCTL55

During the SPS international exhibition held in Nuremberg, Carlo Gavazzi won first place in “System solutions” category.

Lainate, December 2019 - Carlo Gavazzi’s new IO-Link Smart configurator SCTL55, which has been available since February 2019, has been awarded the elektro AUTOMATION Magazine’s Automation Award 2019.

On Thursday December 5th, Francisco Garcia, Carlo Gavazzi GmbH Managing Director, received the prize at the publishing house of the Konradin media group.

The majority of voters at the last SPS fair in Nuremberg, voted for our new portable, self-powered and user-friendly smart configurator for IO-Link sensors.

The SCTL55 smart testing and programming device for IO-Link sensors can work independently of a PC and software as a standalone device, allowing easy and quick access to sensor data so as to manage sensor parameters anywhere at any time.

The SCTL55 automatically connects, via Wi-Fi, to the IODD finder database, that includes all IO-Link sensors available on the market. As a result users can easily manage and improve the production processes and predictive maintenance by visualizing sensor’s parameters in a snapshot.

THE OUTDOOR SOLUTION FOR PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM CARPARK 3

Enhanced efficiency even in outdoor car parks thanks to the implementation of the image recognition systems.

Lainate, December 2019 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, today presents its new system for outdoor car parks.

In order to make car park traffic more efficient and fluid, to increase vehicle rotation in outdoor parking bays and to improve profitability, single bay monitoring by LoRaWAN or NB-IoT wireless sensors is the perfect and invisible solution, since the sensors are in-ground.

Where the pavements cannot be drilled, web cameras are used: standard IP cameras are connected to the SBPVBE videobox which processes the images and transmits to the UWP controller only the occupancy data, in full respect of GDPR regulations.

A complete solution for both indoor and outdoor parking bays is required as very often multi-storey indoor car parks also use a rooftop or an outdoor area where monitoring of the bays is also necessary.

“With this system we are able to satisfy the customer’s request, providing an integrated solution where parking bay status, occupancy information and guidance are given whether the information arrives from a wired sensor, a wireless sensor or a webcam,” Raffaella Sirena International Product Manager says. “With this launch it is our intention to further strengthen our position in the car park business, presenting a complete range of products not only based on traditional technologies, like sensors, but also leveraging on more advanced technologies such as image recognition systems.”

Developed in our competence centre in Italy, the outdoor car park solution has been designed to meet stringent requirements in the building automation market, where high efficiency in both indoor/outdoor parking systems is becoming more and more important.

In-ground LoRaWAN and NB-IoT wireless sensor
• Up to 2 Km in urban environment, 250 m in typical applications
• Flush mount under the road surface
• Battery up to 10 years
• Wide temperature range: -40°C to +85°C

Camera-based detection
• Any IP-camera can be used with a minimum resolution of 2 Mpx
• One IP-camera can detect an average of 40 bays depending on the mounting height
